Usually Iridium wire is used as high temperature oxidation resistant thermocouple material and filament material.

 

The resistance coefficient of iridium wire is 6.03 × 10-2 Ω mm2 / m, the tensile strength is 1493mpa, and the elongation is 10% ~ 20%.

 

Because of the high stability of iridium chemical properties, it can be used as lead wire that will not be oxidized and applied in the electronics industry. Iridium can also be used as a catalyst for some chemical reactions.
